Glenmar Geerman 


Glen was born on Aruba and grew up in a Dominican neighborhood on St. Maarten where he lived with his mom and Dominican stepdad. His stepdad was a DJ at that time so from a very young age Glenmar got introduced to Dominican music, mainly Bachata and Merengue. He grew up listening to artists such as Juan Luis Guerra, Raulin Rodrigues and Wilfrido Vargas. In 2006 he started taking Salsa classes together with Khristy at SalsaRoy in Groningen and that’s where he developed a new passion for dancing. After a year of taking salsa classes he also decided to take bachata classes.
Glen also trained and performed in a couple of showteam here in the Netherlands, where he gained experience in performing. In November 2010 he decided to enter the Dutch Bachata Championships with Khristy. After winning the preliminary rounds it led them to the finals in May 2011, which they also won. Winning the Dutch Bachata Championships led to creating their very first bachata show and they have been performing ever since. Aside from performing Glen has also been giving bachata workhops and lessons together with Khristy for almost two years now.
Glen is well known for his dedicated and passionate way of teaching bachata. His style is a combination of modern bachata mixed with Dominican footwork. He is not only admired for his dips and tricks on the dance floor, but also for his exceptional timing on the music.

Khristy Werleman



Khristy was born and raised on Aruba. She started taking ballet classes at the age 4 and as she grew older she started taking jazzballet and folkloric dance classes. Aside from performing every other year with the local ballet school, she also performed every year in a children’s sing and dance group.
In 2004 Khristy moved to Holland for her studies and started taking salsa classes with Glen at SalsaRoy in Groningen. Aside from practicing Bachata with Glen, she took several ladystyling classes from national performers such as Monique van den Berg and Mechteld Sterk. She also attended several workshops from top international female performers such as Karel Flores, Tanja La Alemana, Camille Yanantuono and Veronica Lopez.
Khristy participated in the Dutch Bachata Championships together with Glen and won the title in 2011 and she has been performing, giving workshops and teaching bachata ever since.
Khristy’s bachata style is best described as a combination of modern bachata with a touch of Dominican style footwork. She is well-known for her graceful body movement and charisma on the dancefloor.
